A Window Into My World

So this is the story of me...I am the mother to five girls.  I'm not sure if I want to share their names yet or not--so I will just refer to them as we do jokingly at home: Thing1, Thing2, Thing3, Thing4, and Thing5 for now at least. I am happily married to Devin.  He has been the best thing to happen in my life (minus having children).  We have had our rocky moments that I will share with you as it comes up and hopefully my happy ending can give others who have marital problems some sort of hope.   Just know that I love him--even if I blog otherwise some day. =)
Thing1 is my complicated child.  She is beautiful and funny and smart and all the things a  mother could hope for in a child, except for the fact that she seems to hate my guts.  I'm not really sure how or why because we were the best of friends until overnight she changed.  I feel a lot of it has to do with the fact that she can't seem to find happiness within herself.  We will get into all of that some other time.
Thing2 is my creative child.  She is also beautiful and funny and smart.  She has a huge heart and often tries to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders for others.  She is so talented and always has been.  I always like to say that if you give her two sticks, some dirt, and maybe a piece of string, she can build you a mansion.  The child just knows how to create beauty out of anything she touches.
Thing3 is my OCD brainiac.  Once again she is beautiful and funny and smart.  She is the child who feels perfection is the best way to accomplish things.  For example, she has to have her shoes tied just right or she freaks out and has a melt down.  She is also the child who gets the Citizenship Award and makes straight A's and is the teacher's pet because she is so eager to please and follow the rules.
Thing4 is my gentle child.  From day one she has been very loving.  She plays well with all of her sisters.  She always says please and thank you.  She gets to start kindergarten this year and is super excited, but very concerned because her mommy will be home with just Thing5. lol  She calls me her bestest friend and says that she loves me and I smell like "rosens."
Thing5 is my ornery child.  She is a chubby-cheeked, strawberry blonde...BRAT. *giggle* I say this with all the love in my heart, but it's true.  She is the only child I have who ever colored on walls, ripped pages in books, pulls fits in the store, screams at the top of her lungs when she gets angry, etc.  BUT-she loves to give kisses and hugs and snuggle up next to you and hold hands as well.
I hope that through this blog people are able to learn a little about myself and my family.  I plan to introduce more of my family here as well.  We are dedicated and loyal and love with everything we have.  We also fuss and fight and hate each other's guts a lot too.  I want the readers to be able to laugh at the the funny stuff, cry with the sad, smile at the things that warm your heart, and realize that it's normal to have skeletons in a closet.
Please enjoy. xoxo
